What's Happening?

In Millsberry...
Millsberry has slowed down a bit this month, compared to October, in which had a new promo every week! I’m glad the Gen. Mills employees decided to give us a little break, considering how busy I’ve been.
I really liked the items from the UP promo early this month. This event was sort of like the Batman Battle Rolls search from last year. You had to search throughout town to find the objects Carl and Russell had hidden. Once you found them, they were added to your stuff. After you’d found all of the items, you were rewarded with either a Russell Costume or a Carl Costume. I personally got more Russell costumes than I did Carl’s, but either one is fine.
Next, the new Thanksgiving items are simply amazing! I love the iron stoves and rustic table and chair set. It really takes you back to the First Thanksgiving celebrated by the Pilgrims long ago. One thing I’d like to see is another Thanksgiving event like they had in 2005. I didn’t have an account back then, but I wish I did.
Anyways, it’s been a great month again on Millsberry. Don’t forget about Grow Good Farms and HNC Greenhouse!!!
On Millsberry Friends...
Millsberry Friends has been a bit more active than last month, and I’m thankful for that. I really appreciate the fact that our members care about the future of our site and the activity boost this month proves it. Keep up the good work!
First, the new Forumotion updates are GREAT! There are many useful features that have been implemented to our site and another one is being discussed by the staff.
Second, those rank slideshows have been added to everyone’s siggies that have a rank. I want to thank golfy for making the images into slideshows. I couldn’t have done it without her!
Lastly, NEXT MONTH IS OUR 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! We’re already planning some great activities for you members. If you have any ideas, PM me, blang, on our site and we will most likely use your idea. ALSO: We only have about 5 million mbs in the contest account, so we need cash! We can’t have a great party without your help!
I’m really proud of the way our side is progressing, and I hope it continues to progress throughout time. Continue to be active and we will be A-OK!
Thanksgiving Poetry
It’s already the end of Fall
Close to winter and in the middle of it all–
I remember Thanksgiving is today!
We’re off from school– There’s time to play
As we remember what we are grateful for
Each year’s turkey is delicious–I always want more!
Gathered we are here, my family and I
Would you care for some pumpkin pie?
My dad makes an important toast
About what he is grateful for the most
And we agree because we’re just happy
That we’re not lonely, that we will achieve everything in life
Even through hard times and strive.
The best part is also the parade
Which I probably watched every year since 1st grade!
All those cool floats and balloons
That represent famous companies, shows, and cartoons
Anyways, what am I trying to say?
That Thanksgiving Day is a wonderful day!
It starts off the holiday season
It’s a time to gather, and there are no better reasons
So turn on the TV, grab some good food,
And get into the holiday mood!

WHAT I AM THANKFUL FOR
Family, friends, food, and home
neighbors, turkey, health, and comb
So many things I have today
But one I must be sure to say,
I am thankful for those
Who who gladly arose
And started this lovely country
This place, this home, we enjoy today
For if it weren't for them, it would all go away.

“What do I know about Thanksgiving?” Charm asked her mother. “I know nothing about this holiday, and why do I even need to know something about it because I’m not American.”
Her mother rolled her eyes at her. “I think it’s all about the turkey stuff, celebrations and all. And I’m also planning to have a thanksgiving party on the 26th.”
“But Mom!”
“It’s a nice way to fit in, honey.”
“We’re never going to fit in, Mom. Whatever you do we’d always be considered different.”
“No. All you have to do is to think positive. And besides, isn’t it your birthday? Aren’t you at least excited?”
“Why do I have to? And I don’t like parties at all.”
Charm didn’t fit in because she wasn’t American. She doesn’t have any friends. They all think that Charm has a weird virus in her body because she was different. But her mom always looked at the bright side of things. Charm made Thanksgiving Day a pretty big deal to her too.
~~
“So, class, I’d only like one volunteer for the Feeding Program on the 26th. Anyone?” Charm thought about what her teacher had said. The date reminded her of her Mom’s upcoming party. Her classmates reasoned out that they would be gone at that time, celebrating and going to parties. She raised up her hand.
“Charm? Okay, good. It’s all set up. Thanks for volunteering.” At first she didn’t exactly know why she did that. Charm thought it was a perfect excuse not to attend parties especially her Mom’s. Perfect.
~~
“Where are you going? Honey, it’s your birthday and I have a party today! You’re not gonna leave me here, do you?” her mother said.
“Umm, I’m going over to school and then the place where this program would be held or something. I’d be back around 6, I think. Have fun, Mom!”
As she reached the school, she felt guilty for leaving her mom running the party alone. ‘Well, it’s my Mom’s party anyway.’ She said to herself.
~~
“Here you go. Oops—it’ll spill. Let me help you.”
Charm felt happy. It was quarter to six and she was finishing the last batch of kids from the squatter areas. She felt like herself for the first time she transferred here. She liked to help people, especially little children. Even though she’s the only student running it except for a few faculty staff from school, she felt like she belonged. She thought doing something like this in a holiday couldn’t be bad, and besides, it’s her birthday.
~~
Charm rang the doorbell of their house. She noticed the windows were all shut and it looked like the party was over and her mom was sleeping. She rang it again. She felt exhausted – but she felt good.
Her mom, in a nightgown, opened the door but still left the lights switched off. She began to wonder why, until her mom covered her eyes with handkerchief.
“What’s happening? Mom? Is that you?” Charm grabbed the pepper spray inside her bag and felt the wall for the light switch. She tried to remove the handkerchief. She switched on the light and someone removed the handkerchief for her. She gasped. Balloons everywhere, a tall cake on top of the table, her classmates and her neighbors all piled up beside the couch, wearing party hats.
“Happy Birthday Charm!” her mom wrapped her in a hug.
“Party time!” one of her classmates said.
Maybe Thanksgiving isn’t the worst holiday after all. Charm thought. Today felt like her happiest day in her entire life – helping kids and celebrating her birthday and everyone happy about it. She truly felt like she belonged.
Be Thankful!

This Thanksgiving, when you sit down to eat your Thanksgiving dinner, thank God for everything that He’s done for you. Every day, thank God for everything He’s done for you. We tend to take for granted some of the things He does for us, like let us wake up every morning and see that our family is still alright. There are so many things that He does for us each and every day. We should always thank Him every day for all the things that He’s blessed us with.
